The distinctive fusion of music and lyrics and their development in the recording process continue to be this talented singer and songwriter’s first love...
White’s career as a professional songwriter began while studying at Seton Hall University, when he had the first song he’d ever written published by MCA Music at age nineteen.
Since 2006, Jimmy’s music has dominated the AC Charts with songs like “Change My Life” “ from his smashing debut album, “One Track Heart.” “Change My Life” rose to number 1 on the STS Main Adult Contemporary (AC), and delivered this artist to certain notoriety with a coveted nomination from the prestigious NEW MUSIC WEEKLY MAGAZINE as “Best New Artist” for 2006 White’s second number 1 single, “One Track Heart,” dominated the main AC Chart for 5 weeks from November, 2006 through January 2007 and placed him at the number 4 position on the overall HOT 100 Top 40/AC Chart, next to John Mayer, Hinder, Beyonce and Christina Agulera. “My My Maria” , the third Number 1 single from “One Track Heart” (June 2007) and “Sure Feels Like Love”, the first Number 1 from Jimmy’s second album, “Hidden Pictures”, translated into two more nominations at the 2007 NEW MUSIC AWARDS, where Jimmy won the coveted “CROSSOVER ARTIST OF THE YEAR” award and was a featured performer at the NEW MUSIC AWARDS show, held at the famous Avalon Theatre in Holloywood, on November 10, 2007. In their November 16, 2007 edition, the editors of NEW MUSIC WEEKLY said that Jimmy gave “one great vocal performance and put on one hell of a show.”
Jimmy’s new release carries the same title as his current number one single, “Sure Feels Like Love” and features 4 number one singles and a special bonus track, the holiday inspired “I Wish You Peace”, which broke the top five in only 3 weeks on the independent music network in December 2007. This song will be around for many years to come, as evidenced by the fact that it has just been picked up for regular rotation as of November, 2008 by the gospel music channel (GMC), which reaches over 40 million homes throughout the U.S.
This “Crosover Artist of the Year” winner says modestly of his gifts: “I just do the best with what God gave me”.
