RADIO SUCCESS OF JIMMY WHITE'S "JUST WHAT I NEED" BUILT ON A SOLID FOUNDATION

The current success of award winning A/C artist, Jimmy White's new duet, "Just What I Need" has been built on a solid foundation of 10 previous #1 hits. The success of this single is crossing over to the Country genre as well.

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) June 14, 2010 -- Jimmy White's latest release, "Just What I Need", his duet with Nashville's legendary Jonell Mosser, has been an unequivocal success on the AC charts, rising quickly into the national FMQB AC Top 20 chart and hitting No. 1 on the playlists of a number of smaller independent radio networks. It is currently at the number 7 position on New Music Weekly’s combined Top 40/AC HOT 100 chart.

The song is also becoming Jimmy's first Country crossover hit, with a quick move into the Music Row Top 100, and to No. 1 on several independent Country charts.

The success of "Just What I Need" has been built on a foundation of previous smaller network hit records, the breakout coming in 2009 with the unprecedented success of "So Far Behind", which rose to No. 12 on FMQB AC chart, staying in the Top 15 for 9 consecutive weeks. The FMQB is a national radio airplay charting service populated nearly exclusively by major label artists. "So Far Behind" was also White’s 9th No. 1 independent AC single in a row and led to his second New Music Award (the first was in 2007 for White's "Hidden Pictures"). In addition, White also won the award for ”Best Male Artist” at the 2009 Independent Music Awards.

Since 2006, White has had 3 records go to No. 1 on New Music Weekly's Main AC/Hot AC chart,

and, as noted above, all of his releases since 2006 (10 total) have reached No. 1 on one nationally recognized chart or another, including the Los Angeles based Independent Music Network.

White’s radio success has also been mirrored in video airplay success with his music videos. His first video, "I Wish You Peace" (2008), achieved 2 months of regular daily rotation on video outlets and shows around the world, including national U.S. networks like the Gospel Music Channel, which reaches over 45 million households. This video has started to become a Holiday programming favorite at video outlets worldwide, with it’s universal message of peace and brotherly love.

His second video, “Angel Eyes”, and his latest, “So Far Behind”, have been solid additions to the success of ”I Wish You Peace”, and have helped to further build White’s national exposure.

Currently, New Jersey based animation studio, Tres3d is animating the music video for “Just What I Need”. This unique music video will be released in July to music video networks and outlets nationwide.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

March 15, 2010

Award winning AC/Country artist, Jimmy White delivers his new duet “Just What I Need”, featuring critically acclaimed artist, Jonell Mosser.

White’s new single is being released to AC and Country radio in March, 2010. It’s available through PlayMPE and on CDX 495.  The single is from White’s upcoming 2-disc CD Release, “Two Cities”.

Highlighting this duet will be a cutting edge animated music video produced by the New Jersey based animation studio, Tres3D.

In a recent interview with the Independent Music Network, White commented on how he was able to work with Jonell on his new duet, “Just What I Need”.  “I loved Jonell's version of "Stop In The Name of Love" from the movie "Hope Floats". In fact, it’s my favorite "cover" ever and she was my favorite female singer. When I expressed a desire to work with her, my Nashville guys went "on a mission", tracked her down and convinced her to give it a shot, which was not easy! I mean, she had an album produced by Don Was (!) and who was I? But we became friends almost immediately and she nailed "Need" in 2 takes, never having even heard the song before. That's talent. With her performance, she turned a "good" record into a GREAT one and I will be forever grateful to her for that.

On being asked if he was surprised that he was getting both Mainstream radio and Country radio airplay on “Just What I Need”, White said, “No, not really. Country radio has become the home for great songwriting and, great songs, for melody and for true human emotion… what once existed on pop radio, but no longer does to the same extent. "Just What I Need" has all those things, so it’s really two kindred spirits coming together.

Jason Epperson and Lark Watts help film music video for recording artist at Leeds

By Rachel Parsons

The quiet little theater on Main Street is alive and bustling with activity these days.

Now, rather than being the place where people come to see the stars perform, the Leeds Center for the Arts is the star. The hallmark of downtown Winchester has become the set for a music video by recording artist Jimmy White.

Although White is not exactly a household name, he’s been around the recording business for a long time.Image

“I always loved writing, ever since I was a little kid. I always had songs in my head. I’d be eight years old, mowing the lawn for my parents making up songs as I’d go,” said White.

White said writing lyrics is something that has come natural. Writing melodies and performing, on the other hand, were a little slower in coming. White confessed to battling extreme stage fright, and unlike most singers, he only began performing as a way to get his songs heard.

In college, White had to teach himself how to play the piano so he could write the melodies to accompany his lyrics.

“I started writing lyrics, and I couldn’t play the piano. I couldn’t find anybody to play for me, so I taught myself to play,” said White. “I started performing to get my songs out there.”

Stage fright is still a struggle, but White has learned to deal with it. Actually getting on stage is the hardest part, but once he starts singing, the fear usually subsides.

White has definitely reached a reflective stage in his career and his latest song, “Chasing The Wind,” is  Image representative of some of the changes in his attitude, both toward music and toward life. The title “Chasing The Wind” is particularly significant for White, who was inspired by the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible.

“It’s my idea of poking fun at myself,” said White. “I’ve had successes in life and experiences that people would love to have, but they weren’t quite it.” He compares the whole process of making an album and getting songs on the radio to chasing the wind.

White has also learned over the years not to take his writing too seriously, either. Nowadays, he’s more worried about having fun with his music and writing the kinds of songs that are meaningful to him than making sure he can be boxed into a particular genre. For a man who has spent many years chasing his dream of a musical career, learning to relax and trust the music has been truly liberating, and, White believes, it has allowed him to create some of his best songs.

“It’s by far the best thing I’ve done … . It’s just things I love,” White said. Talking about the latest phase in his career brings a big grin to his face, and he is reminiscent of a proud parent bragging about his child.

He also loves that his latest CD, “Two Cites”, has allowed him to explore his edgier, rock and roll side.

“It’s so cool!” White said, humming a few riffs and playing air guitar to emphasize his point. It is easy to imagine the 8-year-old boymaking up songs while mowing the yard is still a part of him.

White admitted that the songs on “Two Cites” like “Goddess” and “Tyrannosaurus Ex” are unlike anything heImage would have written in the past, but these days, he’s all about having fun with his music and being true to himself.

“I just do whatever I want to do,” White said of his approach to writing. “Things will work out if you stay true … I don’t edit myself too much anymore.”

White’s belief in staying true to oneself is one of the reasons why he’s having so much fun in Kentucky. For a boy raised in a small town in New Jersey, coming to Winchester is like a homecoming of sorts. The close-knit relationships and the friendly people are definitely near and dear to his heart.

“It’s warm and it’s friendly, and it’s exactly what makes life worth living,” said White. Despite all the joy that music brings him, at the end of the day, it’s a feeling of friendship and community that make him feel the most at peace.

“People that you love, in a place that’s home, that’s really the best thing in life. That’s really a gift from God.”

JIMMY WHITE WINS NEW MUSIC AWARDS 2007 CROSSOVER ARTIST OF THE YEAR

“SURE FEELS LIKE LOVE” STAYS AT NUMBER 1 FOR EIGHTH STRAIGHT WEEK!

Jimmy White Signs Major Deal With Aspirion Records

Aspirion Records takes "Someone I used to Know" national,
promoting to all the major AC radio stations in the US.

Jimmy white’s debut hit album  “One Track Heart’, the source of three number 1 hit singles in 2006 and 2007 and White’s latest  CD ‘Hdden Pictures’, which has already spawned a number 1 hit “Sure Feels Like Love,” have led to Jimmy White winning the prestigious ‘Crossover Artist of the Year’ award at the new music awards, held at the Avalon theatre in Hollywood, CA.

On November 10, 2007. Jimmy gave a blazing live performance at the show, characterized by the editors of New Music weekly magazine as ‘one great vocal performance,’ also saying in the November 16 issue of new music weekly that “Jimmy White put on one hell of a show at the ceremony”.

As you know, jimmy was nominated in 2006 as best new artist by New Music Weekly Magazine, both for his two number 1 singles from ”One Track Heart,” “Change My Life” and “One Track Heart,” as well as his distinctive raw vocal style, passionate lyricism, and “hook laden choruses’ (Billboard magazine).

These landmark successes have led to Jimmy just signing a major new agreement with Aspirion records in Nashville for the promotion and release of Jimmy’s new work. The first album, in January 2008, will be titled “Sure Feels Like Love,” from the number 1 single of the same name. This album will also include a song destined to be a holiday classic, “I Wish You Peace”, which in only 3 weeks has landed at number 6 on the independent music network charts. The first single of 2008 will be the beautiful ballad, “Someone I Used To Know,” available on both “Hidden Pictures”, and the brand new CD for 2008, “Sure Feels Like Love”.

Now back in the studio, Jimmy is working on a brand new album, to be titled “Two Cites’ which will include the first pre-released single noted above, “ I Wish You Peace.”. It is well under way, with 28 (!) new songs currently being recorded, spanning the scope of pop styles, all integrated into Jimmy’s own unique manner of approaching his music. This new work, perhaps the best of his career to date, will also contain Jimmy’s first “cover” of his career, Cat Stevens’ “Father and Son” and, due to the sheer volume of Jimmy’s creativity,  may evolve into two or even three new CD’s in 2008 and 2009!

Outside of the studio, White can found performing with newly formed rock band; “Brake (The Fall),” named after one of Jimmy’s new songs, and featuring Jimmy White and former Skid Row drummer Tony “The Banger” Brito. “Brake” is slated for tour dates this year. Watch out White fans! It is clear that whether in the studio or on stage live, Jimmy White is a man who loves making music and sharing it with his audience.
