It’s something I appreciate very much.”
On Wednesday morning, New Music Weekly magazine announced the nominations for its 2011 NMW Awards, which has White up for five awards, including Top 40 Breakthrough Artist, AC/HOT AC Single of the Year for “Forever and a Day,” Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist and in the Crossover category, Artist of the Year. In his impressive thirty year career, White has reached #1 more than a dozen times on the Independent AC Charts and four times on the National AC charts. White has also charted three times in the Billboard AC Top 40 and 4 times in the FMQB AC Top 10.
His 26 song, double disc album Two Cities, which he recorded in Nashville, TN and Buffalo, NY has been receiving rave reviews since its September release. The album is available for download through all major online distributors and in stores worldwide.
“Two Cities, a double album by multi-award winning Jimmy White, is a remarkable creation by a man with a pure voice. White is not a shouter, not a screamer, but a complete crooner within himself. Two Cities is one of the best albums of the year.” John Shelton Ivany, JSI Top 21.
A project dear to Jimmy, Bands 4 Bella, is a CD project benefiting the Bella Moss Foundation to raise awareness about the dangers of MRSA. White wrote and recorded Good Friends Are Hard to Find to pay tribute to his pet cat Smoke, who passed away with complications resulting from diabetes.
