Jimmy White Heads Into Thursday Night’s IMN Awards with Record Breaking Eight Nominations
When the Independent Music Network (IMN) awards air online Thursday night, award winning AC Artist, self taught pianist, feline enthusiast and animal lover Jimmy White leads the pack with an impressive eight nominations including:
- Best Male Country Artist
- Best Male Artist – Mainstream
- Favorite Mainstream Impact Artist
- Favorite Mainstream Video – Forever and a Day
- Favorite Mainstream Video – Good Friends are Hard to Find
- Favorite Country Video – Katy Did
- Favorite Crossover Artist or Band
- Favorite Mainstream Single – Forever and a Day
The awards will be broadcast live Thursday from Los Angeles, CA at 8 p.m. CST and can be viewed live at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/studio-city-sound-live.
“I do not record music for awards, but it is very gratifying to be awarded with such honors and recognition,” expresses White. “I have always loved making music and these nominations are like a pat on the back from people I respect, telling me I did a good job. It’s something I appreciate very much.”
On Wednesday morning, New Music Weekly magazine announced the nominations for its 2011 NMW Awards, which has White up for five awards, including Top 40 Breakthrough Artist, AC/HOT AC Single of the Year for “Forever and a Day,” Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist and in the Crossover category, Artist of the Year. In recent years, acclaimed singer/songwriter White has garnered an impressive three New Music awards, along with two Best Male Artist awards from the IMN. He also accepted a Best AC Group/Duo award in 2010 with powerhouse vocalist and Music City favorite Jonell Mosser for their hit “Just What I Need.”
In his impressive thirty year career, White has reached #1 more than a dozen times on the Independent AC Charts and four times on the National AC charts. White has also charted three times in the Billboard AC Top 40 and 4 times in the FMQB AC Top 10.
His 26 song, double disc album Two Cities, which he recorded in Nashville, TN and Buffalo, NY has been receiving rave reviews since its September release. The album is available for download through all major online distributors and in stores worldwide.

White wrote and recorded Good Friends Are Hard to Find to pay tribute to his pet cat Smoke, who passed away with complications resulting from diabetes.
