Jimmy White Wins New Music Awards 2007 Crossover Artist of the Year

Jimmy White nominated for two awardsJimmy white’s debut hit album  “One Track Heart’, the source of three number 1 hit singles in 2006 and 2007 and White’s latest  CD ‘Hdden Pictures’, which has already spawned a number 1 hit “Sure Feels Like Love,” have led to Jimmy White winning the prestigious ‘Crossover Artist of the Year’ award at the new music awards, held at the Avalon theatre in Hollywood, CA.

On November 10, 2007. Jimmy gave a blazing live performance at the show, characterized by the editors of New Music weekly magazine as ‘one great vocal performance,’ also saying in the November 16 issue of new music weekly that “Jimmy White put on one hell of a show at the ceremony”.

As you know, jimmy was nominated in 2006 as best new artist by New Music Weekly Magazine, both for his two number 1 singles from ”One Track Heart,” “Change My Life” and “One Track Heart,” as well as his distinctive raw vocal style, passionate lyricism, and “hook laden choruses’ (Billboard magazine).

These landmark successes have led to Jimmy just signing a major new agreement with Aspirion records in Nashville for the promotion and release of Jimmy’s new work. The first album, in January 2008, will be titled “Sure Feels Like Love,” from the number 1 single of the same name. This album will also include a song destined to be a holiday classic, “I Wish You Peace”, which in only 3 weeks has landed at number 6 on the independent music network charts. The first single of 2008 will be the beautiful ballad, “Someone I Used To Know,” available on both “Hidden Pictures”, and the brand new CD for 2008, “Sure Feels Like Love”.

Now back in the studio, Jimmy is working on a brand new album, to be titled “Two Cites’ which will include the first pre-released single noted above, “ I Wish You Peace.”. It is well under way, with 28 (!) new songs currently being recorded, spanning the scope of pop styles, all integrated into Jimmy’s own unique manner of approaching his music. This new work, perhaps the best of his career to date, will also contain Jimmy’s first “cover” of his career, Cat Stevens’ “Father and Son” and, due to the sheer volume of Jimmy’s creativity,  may evolve into two or even three new CD’s in 2008 and 2009!

Outside of the studio, White can found performing with newly formed rock band; “Brake (The Fall),” named after one of Jimmy’s new songs, and featuring Jimmy White and former Skid Row drummer Tony “The Banger” Brito. “Brake” is slated for tour dates this year. Watch out White fans! It is clear that whether in the studio or on stage live, Jimmy White is a man who loves making music and sharing it with his audience.
